Our Story — Built from Skateboarding, Made with Soul

Soul Skateboards grew from a love of skating, original artwork and the drive to create boards and apparel that feel different from everything else on the rack.

01

How Soul Started

Soul was the rap name of my best friend. He was a rapper, a deep thinker and someone heavily into meditation, consciousness and the kind of conversations that could go on for hours. Years later, when I started making skateboards, the name came with me. Soul Skateboards is dedicated to him, but we're not trying to define what Soul has to mean to everyone else. We're here to make good boards, good art and build something genuine around skateboarding. Where it goes from here, we'll find out. Ride With Soul.

02

Why Skateboarding

Skateboarding has always been more than just learning tricks.

It teaches you patience without trying to. You fall, get frustrated, try again, and eventually land something that seemed impossible a week earlier.

There isn't one right way to skate either. Everyone develops their own style, learns at their own pace and sees different possibilities in the same piece of concrete.

That's one of the things I love most about it.

Soul isn't about being the best skater at the park or proving anything to anyone. It's about getting on a board, progressing in your own way and enjoying everything that comes with it.

If Soul can help someone get their first board, land their first trick, find some confidence, meet new people or simply enjoy skating a little more, then we're doing something worthwhile.

03

What We Believe

We believe skateboarding should feel welcoming.

No attitude. No judgement. No pretending you need to know everything before you walk through the door.

Whether someone has been skating for twenty years or is standing on a board for the first time, they deserve the same respect.

We believe in giving people honest advice rather than trying to sell them whatever costs the most. We believe boards should be put together properly, products should be worth what people pay for them, and if we wouldn't skate or wear something ourselves, we shouldn't be selling it.

We also don't want Soul to become a company that chases every trend just because something happens to be popular.

We want to make things we actually believe in.

Good boards. Good art. Good people around them.

Simple as that.

04

The Soul Community

Soul might be new, but skateboarding has never been something you do completely on your own.

It's the people you meet at parks. The person who gives you advice on a trick. The stranger who cheers when you finally land something you've been battling. The parents bringing their kids down for their first skate. The people who lend you a tool, let you try their board or stay for one more session when everyone should probably have gone home already.

That's the side of skateboarding we want Soul to be part of.

We want Soul to grow around real skaters, local sessions, beginners, experienced riders, families, artists, musicians and anyone who genuinely connects with what we're building.

Not some manufactured "community" created for marketing.

A real one.

People skating together, helping each other progress and having a good time doing it.

Soul is only at the beginning, and we're looking forward to meeting the people who become part of what comes next.
